Electric motorcycles and electric scooters capable of 60 mph
will generally sit in the 11 kW category, which is the maximum continuous power
for electric motorcycles that can be ridden with a CBT licence. There is,
however, only one electric scooter that can achieve 60 mph, whereas there are
quite a number of electric motorbikes that can do so. In practice, electric motorcycles and scooters
producing 5kW or over can achieve 60 mph, but acceleration will
typically be far quicker than petrol models due to the much higher torque
they produce. Furthermore, some electric motorcycles are capable
of releasing significantly more than 11 kW for limited periods, which
is another reason why they can accelerate far faster than petrol bikes in the
same category. In all cases, the more powerful electric motorcycles
have larger batteries, which means they also deliver greater range.
Magnet Motos offers several CBT-compliant, 11 kW motorbikes
